I understood your narrative. The only comments I would have are: 1. Word stress- "......want to know" (stress should be on "know" not "want" and "...childhood was like" (stress should be on "like" not "was". This is a common, minor problem with Spanish and Portuguese native speakers. My suggestion: listen to native speakers and imitate. 2. It is my opinion that accent is not a problem with any native language speaker as long as you can be understood. So, don't worry about accent.
