I put on this shirt three days ago

I read the following sentence from a book:

I put on this shirt three days ago.

I think "put on" is wrong and we should use "wore" instead.

    Could anybody help, please?

You have been wearing it for three days.
You put it on three days ago.
You will take it off next week.

    Thanks, 5jj.

Do you think "I put on this shirt three days ago." is grammatical but illogical?
Is it correct to say "You put on this shirt three days ago.''?

Re: I put on this shirt three days ago

"I wore this shirt 3 days ago" = I am not wearing it now, but was 3 days ago.

"I put on this shirt 3 days ago" = I am still wearing it.
