    DIED BY/DIED OF

    Which sentence is more correct?

    1. I almost died of a heart attack.

    2. I almost died by a heart attack.

    Thanks

    Of.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

I can ... if you can explain why, after nearly 100 posts on this forum, you are still writing "u" instead of you.

    The standard collocations are:

'He died of an illness/disease/organ failure/old age.'

'He died in an accident/a fire/a flood/a natural disaster.'

'He died by lethal injection/hanging/poisoning/falling off a cliff.'
