    Which do you do you think is correct? Can "between" be used when talking about people in general?

    ABC . . . XYZ. Y is between X and Z. Two factors, X and Z, are involved. "between" refers to two, no more:

    EX: You know political issues tend to strain intimate relationships between the two parties.

    "among" refers to more than two,

    EX: You know political issues tend to strain intimate relationships among the parties.
