    ... death ... has fed-up Venetians asking =? causes/prompts fed-up Venetians to ask

    Hello again!

The recent accidental death of a German tourist along the Grand Canal has fed-up Venetians asking whether tourism has finally gotten out of hand.

Could the above sentence be re-written as "The re.cent accidental death of a German tourist along the Grand Canal is causing/prompting tired Venetians to ask whether tourism has finally gotten out of hand"?

    Thank you.

Well, you've change "fed up" to 'tired', and I think that just makes it less precise.
But yes, " ... is causing fed-up Venetians to ask ..." is better than the original, because reading the original gives the initial impression that the death has made them fed up - that is, that "has fed up" is the verb.
