    Shelf or shelves

    Hello,

My understanding is that one flat board is "a shelf" and you can have a few shelves in the bookcase. Now what about these tree shelves that come in one set (tree).

Is one "tree" a tree SHELF or tree SHELVES?

    Thank you.
