Dear Teachers,
There is a lab in which optics experiments are done. I wonder if we can name the lab as "Optical Lab"?
I think it must be "Optics Lab" or "Optical Physics Lab" or something else.
Please suggest the most suitable/relevant name for such a lab.
Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forums, anhvllt.:-D

Is it the only lab in the building/complex/facility? If not, it should match what the others are called.

'Optics Lab' or 'Optics Research Lab' sound good to me.

Hi Rover,
it's just a lab in a physics faculty, i.e., it's certainly not the only lab.
I know "Optics lab" is a good one, but is "Optical lab" in this case sounds weird or incorrect? or is it acceptable?
Thanks!

I wouldn't use 'Optical' as it's an adjective describing the lab. 'Optics' is the speciality studied in the lab.

Compare 'Physics Lab' and 'Physical Lab' or 'Biology Lab' and 'Biological Lab'.

I understand that we should use "noun" as a word to describe a lab and shouldn't use "adjective", am I right?

I would say so, but it wouldn't surprise me if somebody found exceptions.
