Yesterday, I write a letter. While I writing, I found one mistake in my letter.

I explained capabilities of a button in the letter.

So the sentence started with:

When you click to the button, ....

I was thinking which is a correct approach to finish the sentence.
I've described the following options:

  1. the menu items of the particular button will be shown.
  2. the menu items of the particular button will show.
  3. the menu items will be shown of the particular button.
  4. the menu items will show of the particular button.
  5. will be shown the menu items of the particular button.
  6. will show the menu items of the particular button.
  7. or the sentence meaning is incorrect.

I think the third option is correct, because I've use passive form of the feature simple tense and the list items are with high priority.

Thanks for your future answers :)

I explained the capabilities of a button in the letter.

So the sentence started with:

When you click on the button, ....

I was wondering which is the correct way to finish the sentence.
I've considered the following options:

  1. the menu items of that particular button will be shown. Best.
  2. the menu items of that particular button will show. Inferior, but sometimes used.
  3. the menu items will be shown of the particular button. Incorrect.
  4. the menu items will show of the particular button. Incorrect.
  5. will be shown the menu items of the particular button. Incorrect.
  6. will show the menu items of the particular button. Incorrect.
  7. or the sentence meaning is incorrect.

Clicking the button brings up the associated menu item.

I think the third option is correct, because I've used the passive form of the future simple tense and the list items are with high priority.

Thanks for your future answers. Don't use :) as a punctuation mark. If you want to insert smilies use the :-D icon.
