    Post take the form of...?

    Hi,
Could anyone please help me with this sentence?:

To permit charging this column contains 4 parameters instead two used in the stage type. This may take the form of the cylindrical shells or parallel ducts.

    Thanks

    Re: take the form of...?

I presume you want to know what "This may take the form of.." means.

In this case, it means that the equipment required to carry out the desired task or effect can be made up of ...[followed by a list of one or more suggestions].

For example, "I need something to help me climb that tree. This may take the form of a ladder, or a rope."

Note that the first sentence of the passage you quote [To permit charging this column contains 4 parameters instead two used in the stage type] is completely unintelligible.
I'm not a teacher of English, but I have spoken it for (almost) all of my life....
