    I haven't finished my homework yet. I _________ my mother with the housework all day yesterday.

    A. helped B. was helping C. have helped D. have been helping

    I think item A is a good choice in this sentence, but the answer is C. Which tense is proper in this sentence for you? Thanks for help!!

    A or B would work here. C is not correct.

    C is definitely incorrect. A and B are both acceptable, but my preference is B.
