I haven't finished my homework yet. I _________ my mother with the housework all day yesterday.

A. helped B. was helping C. have helped D. have been helping

I think item A is a good choice in this sentence, but the answer is C. Which tense is proper in this sentence for you? Thanks for help!!

A or B would work here. C is not correct.

C is definitely incorrect. A and B are both acceptable, but my preference is B.

Sorry, I made a mistake just now. The answer is B. Then could you tell me what different meanings the sentence presents with A and B? Thanks!
