    ran around the village

Does "ran around the village" mean "run here and there inside the village" or "run around the outside circle of the village"? I think the former.

12)When I was 9, my father had a job in the Korean Folk Village, and my family moved there. I ran around the village with my friends while my father worked. I naturally came across traditional Korean performances like pansori or nong-ak every day.
