    doubt abouth the use of how about

    Good afternoon,
    My name is Jacqueline and I teach english for teenagers in Brazil. So, I need to improve my knowledge about english grammar.When and how Can I use the expression How about ?

    How about is an informal invitation. How about a coffee means

    1. Would you like some coffee? or
    2. Let's have coffee together.

    The following is an invitation to reconsider something.
    How about revisiting the logic we used in deciding that. We may have made a mistake somewhere.

    It can also be an exclamation indicating surprise or approval. How about those Yankees might be said by one baseball fan to another if the Yankees had recently performed well.

    In addition to probus's suggestions, you can use it like this:

    "I'd like an ice cream. How about you?" (Would you like an ice cream, too?)

    I've never noticed the lack of quotations in your posts before, probus. Is this new, or is it just unusually prominent in this post?
