    trailing to oblivion

    I might seem stupid with so much questions, but I'm here again. And I can't understand what the voice "trailing to oblivion" is like:
    “My wife left me for another guy,” he said, his voice trailing to oblivion."

    His voice gradually became quieter until it could not be heard at all.
