Hello!
How the use of 'to' and 'for' can be explained in these examples?
e.g.
Happy birthday to you.
I was looking for you.
Cheers,
Tito
I'd say that when you 'look for', you are searching somebody or someone.
But I have no clue when it comes to 'happy birthday to you'. Why not 'for you'?
Hmm, if I have a present for somebody I say: 'I've got a present for you'. Would it be right to use 'to' instead?
Thinking about wish I know that it's correct to say: 'I wish all the best to you'.
