Some question about sentence pattern "not only.. but also..." involving inversion:

"He not only arrived late, but also yelled at us."
"Not only did he arrive late, but also yelled at us."

The first sentence is as standard English as it gets. But what about the second sentence with the inversion in the first half? Should I also use some sort of inversion in the second half of the second sentence?

No, it is fine that way it is. But I would add "he" in the second sentence.
