    Question In or on?

Can I say "Put this on the trash?" Or is it more correct to say in, because I think (please correct me if I'm wrong) we can use both of them, but the prepositition "in" is (may be) correctly, because if someone says that to me , He really wants me to put that thing inside of the trash can...

    Re: In or on?

Yes. It's "in". I agree with you that it's the equivalent of "in the trash can/bag". Note that in BrE, it's "Put it in the rubbish [bin/bag]". In BrE, "on" is definitely incorrect in that context. I am almost sure that it's also incorrect in AmE but wait for a speaker of AmE to respond.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Yes, if you are throwing something away, you put it in the trash.

In the US, we always say "in the trash". However, if there is a pile of trash somewhere, one could say "put it on the trash heap".
