a breed that not be too much to handle!!

    Hi!

    I found a sentence strange.

If you've been considering getting a dog for a variety of reasons, make sure you choose a breed that would love to walk with you and not be too much to handle.

In my opinion, it should be changed to "is not too much to handle."

    Am I wrong?

Thank you so much in advance! ^^

The original is fine. The word "would" is assumed to carry over past the conjunction "and". It would be "a breed that would love to walk with you and (would) not be too much to handle".
