b)is offered
c)has offered

Hi,

Can option "b" (is offered) be correct as well? If not then why? Aren't "b" and "d" the same?

In an examination with a non-contextualized sentence, I would choose D. I could dream up a context in which B would work, but it is a stretch. One would be using the historical present.

First, my parking spot is taken away. Then, I am sent to the Staten Island office. And what happens next? Mona is offered the manager's job.

Thank you. Would you please be nice enough to clarify me the difference between "b" and "d" :?:

B has to be in the historical present, D would be normal reporting of events that have happened.

What do you mean by that? Can you clarify it to me by an example?

Thank you very much.

I have already given you an example of the historical present. What more do you need?

What is "historical present"?

Mike's response, which I have bolded, is an example of the historical present.
