what's the difference between "made of" and "made up of"?

For example, USA is made of 50 states. or USA is made up of 50 states.
Which one is correct? Thx in advance for your help!

The first is worse than the second.

Neither is correct at the moment. There is a word missing from the beginning of each sentence.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    The USA is correct.
Please, correct all my mistakes. I should know English perfectly and if you show me my mistakes I will achieve my dream a little bit faster. A lot of thanks.
