the construction of "suggest sb doing sth"

Hi! I have seen the following.
-Why don't you use a password to protect your files? An said to me
a- An advised me to use a password to protect your files.
b- An suggested me using a password to protect my files.
c- An encouraged me to use a password to protect my files.
d- An asked me why I didn't use a password to protect my files.

B is the key. But I don't find the construction of "suggest sb doing sth" in any academic materials. Can we use it, please?

Re: the construction of "suggest sb doing sth"

I assume "An" is a name where you are. Note that the word you need is "protect".

    c) and d) are both grammatical and possible.
    b) is not grammatical. We don't say "Xxx suggested me verb_+ing". We say "XXX suggested to me that I verb ..."
    a) is incorrect on two counts. 1 - the word "use" appears twice. 2 - saying "your files" at the end doesn't make sense.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Or simply "...suggested that I ..."
