To be going to VS Future simple

    Hi everyone)
It might be a silly question but it's really driving me crazy.
    Which one is correct:
She wasn't at work today. I think I will phone her (I believe this one is correct because to me phrase "I think" indicates that it' is on-the-spot decision.)
    OR
She wasn't at work today. I think I'm going to phone her
I would greatly appreciate any help with this topic
    xoxo
    Alba

Re: To be going to VS Future simple

They are both grammatically correct. The first is more common and more natural. "I'm going to phone her" sounds better without "I think" before it but you'll still hear it and there's nothing wrong with it. Neither gives an indication of when you came to the decision or when you're going to make the phone call.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

There's a lot of overlap between going to/will where both are possible.
