    like John and Patrick

Is there a difference between the meanings of these sentences:

1-There are few good engineers left in this company like John and Patrick.

2-There are few good engineers left in this company, like John and Patrick.

    I think 1 corresponds to:

a-There are few good engineers like John and Patrick left in this company.
    and 2 corresponds:

b-There are few good engineers left in this company, such as John and Patrick.

So in 1 it is possible that John and Patrick are not in 'this company'.

    Is that correct?

    Gratefully,
    Navi

Yes, but I'd phrase it as a. not 1. And the fact that neither John nor Patrick are in the company should be mentioned, if it's not already known.
