after I eat/eat my food mom.

My mom: Alex, why don't you study your lessons?
Me: I will do that after I eat my food mom.
Me: I will do that after I ate my food mom.

    Hi friends,

Which one of the bold written parts work?

    Thank you

Re: after I eat/eat my food mom.

    Here's a more natural conversation:

MUM: Alex, why don't you do your homework?

ME: I'll do it after tea, mum.

Thanks for answering. I wish you could also point to "eat" and "ate"
I mean I am confused and don't know which one works.

I have problem with it's grammar.
For example: "after I get visa I will come to your country" or "after I got visa I will come to your company"
I mean I don't know to use "present" or "past" in these circumstances.

Me: I will do that after I eat my food mom.
Me: I will do that after I ate my food mom.

I don't know if it's correct to use "eat" or "ate"

Re: after I eat/eat my food mom.

    "Ate" doesn't work here.
I will do that after I eat... or I will do that after I have eaten... I think both of the above would do, although there is a difference.

I would recommend you to google for "future time clauses".

Please be aware that I am not a native speaker, nor an English teacher.

With the choices you have given, "eat" would be the correct verb. However, Rover brought up a good point. It is more likely for the child to mention the meal instead of the eating. "I will do that after lunch, dinner, etc". "Tea" would not be normal in AmE.

Re: after I eat/eat my food mom.

Mom/Mum should begin with a capital letter when used as a name.
