    Is this sentence correct?

    "I hope you could finish the work your started."

    No. Without context it is difficult to know what you are trying to say.

    One correct version is: I hope you will finish the work you have started.

    Thank you. But if there is doubt about the possibility, is it correct to use "could"?

    Peter started a project but he is now working overseas and might not be able to come back for now. What I am trying to say is that I hope the project could be completed (but i know the possibility is remote).

    "I hope you can finish the work early." 'Could' is wrong.
    When he gets back: "I hoped you could finish the work early."
