    to be cooking

    Dear teachers,
Please help me with this problem.

They supposed that the man of music and dancing to be cooking the rice.

Some teachers say this sentence is right.
Some teachers argue that the subject "the man of music and dancing" is lacking a verb because there is only "to be cooking" in the sentence.
Others discuss that the verb should be "be cooking" or "was to be cooking".
    In my opinion, it's wrong.
Please guide us to know the right one.
    I appreciate your kind help.
    Have a good time!
