    Distance in a sentence

    What is correct:

    1. The distance between our houses is far apart
    2. The distance between our houses is big
    3. The distance between our houses is long

    #3 is OK. I don't find it very natural, though.

    If I followed your pattern, I'd use something like The distance between our houses is considerable. However, Raymott's sentences are more natural.

    Thanks. 'Distance' goes with 'long'. That is clear now. But can a distance be 'far apart'?
