Post Asking a question based on a given fact

    Dear readers,

Which of the phrases below are better and well-proposed please? (I've preferably used gerund form in the beginning of one of the phrases however it's not a must). We want to ask a question (second part) based on a given fact (first part).
    .
    - Having smartphones, is it necessary to have computers?
    - With smartphones around, is it necessary to have computers?

Do you have any suggestion to say it in a better and popular way?

    Thanks in advance!
    Ali

    not a teacher

A few suggestions, some of which ask the question a little differently.
In a world of smartphones, do we need computers?
With smartphones around, who needs computers?
In a world of smartphones, who needs computers?
We've got smartphones, do we need computers?
You've got a smartphone, do you need a computer?
You've got a smartphone, why have a computer?
With smartphones around, why have computers?
    … etc etc.

    Dear JMurray,

Thanks a lot for your great suggestions! They clarified the different ways in which such statements could be made.
Again, thanks! And this thread is open and more suggestions from you and other reader are welcomed.
