Do you think "it was" is omitted between "as" and "delivered"? or does "as" mean "in the same way that"?

I don't know why Korean grammarians call this "as" "simliar relative pronoun". What they say is that "as" here functions as a relative pronoun refering to the antecedent " his description of the trip", not as "when". I don't know if this grammar is correct and where this "simliar relative pronound" comes from.

본래 문장에서 his description of the trip이 반복되어 생략하고, 선행사를 잃어버린 관계대명사 that과 be동사도 생략되면서 원래 전치사였던 as가 his description of the trip라는 선행사를 갖는 관계대명사처럼 보이는 것
