The book was famous once, but nobody reads it today.

I understand that in 2, "once" means "some time in the past", but "C" also can be interpreted as "just one time", so 1 and 4 also seem to have the same meaning. What do you think?

    19. Select the same usage as C in the passage.
① Mary had only been to Manchester once before.
② The book was famous once, but nobody reads it today.
Once it is decided, it should never be changed.
④ She sees her parents once every six months.
⑤ I think it necessary that you should do it at once.

Byeongman: Have you ever met anybody from a place with a strange name?
Byeongman's Dad: Yes. I (c)once met a man who came from a town called Boring.
Byeongman: Boring? That's a funny name. Anyway, how long will it take to get to Hollywood? I can't wait to get there!

    That's a rather unlikely interpretation.
