    When "race" is used as a transitive verb, what does it mean?

    5. M: Hi, Amy. How are you?
    W: Hi, Robin. Im good. Is that your dog?
    M: Yes. Im usually with him when I take a walk.
    He loves strolling outside.
    W: Yeah, he looks excited now.
    M: He especially likes to race me in the park.
    W: Umm.... But as far as I know, dogs should be
    on a leash when theyre outside.
    M: I know. I have a leash in my bag but he
    always behaves nicely.
