    Digest

    Hi teachers,

Is the verb "Digest" a transitive or intransitive?

I know I can say like "I don't digest some meat." But can we say like "The meat I ate last night was not digested yet."

    Re: Digest

'Digest' is transitive. Your second sentence is in the passive voice.

Even if corrected to 'The meat I ate last night has not been digested yet', that's not a very natural sentence.

    Re: Digest

With a change of subject, it would sound like a sentence from an autopsy report.
