    That's my boy!

What does "That's my boy!" mean? "My boy(son) achieved it?"?

Billy gets a letter from London. He opens it and goes to his dad.
BILLY: Dad, I passed the audition! DAD: That's my boy! You made it, Billy. You will become a great ballet dancer. BILLY: Thanks, Dad. I love you. DAD: I love you, too, son.

'Well done!' 'Great news!' 'What an achievement!'

    'Way to go!' (AE only)

It also infers a degree of pride. When a parent is proud of their child's achievement they might say "that's my boy/girl".
