"Cannibals kill, skin, cook, and eat humans as what butchers do to poultry."

Does it make sense? Whether the analogy is proper is beside the point.

It makes sense, but I would change "as what" to "just as".

Butchers don't necessarily cook and eat poultry.

I just posted a reply containing a URL to show how a native English teacher thinks about my sentence, but my whole reply was deleted promptly. Are URLs going to other sites banned on this forum?

As far as I know a new member here has to wait for a moderator to approve any post that contains a link. Just be patient.

If you use just as butchers do poultry, it would make better sense, apart from the factual issues- poultry tends to be plucked rather than skinned, etc. The original sentence in the first post doesn't work, though the meaning's clear enough.

No, they're not, but people have to post 10 times before they can post links. If a post has a link before then, it will not appear until someone has approved it.

This makes it harder for spammers and trolls. If they can't post their links to their Web sites that sell fake Coach handbags, fake NFL jerseys, or mail order brides, they go elsewhere.

A certified teacher told me that "Indeed 'do' here is an action verb (it's followed by an object) ... 'People do birds' makes no sense..."
Is she wrong? May I post a URL going to her answers on another site?

I am a moderator on another forum where even newcomers are free to post links, so I sometimes have to manually remove spam links and ban spammers.

If you can't see your earlier post, refresh the page- I can see the link.

You can have different views about things. I think the sentence is OK. I'm no great fan of it, but to reduce it to 'people do birds' is selective quotation.

Do you mean that "do" followed by an object can be used also as a pro-verb instead of only as an action verb?
