    value ... at different amounts.

The following in red is confusing. What is it saying?

The core argument of the Curve has three strands. The first is that people value products at different amounts. Historically, without the rapid communication and distribution enabled by the internet, the job of a business was to find the average price that satisfied the most demand. In the twenty-first century, it has become possible ... to be much more discriminatory in your pricing and to find ways to offer customers products and services at wildly differing price points ...

    Thank you.

People will give different values to a product- you may think something's worth more than I would be willing to pay.
