Question Standard reference book on the English language

    Dear Sir, Madam,
Concerning the Dutch language, there is a small number of books explaining the rules, e.g. when to use capitals or not, punctuation, constructions of sentences et cetera.
My question: is there a standard book of reference I should have on my shelve to look up these kind of matters on the English language?

Thank you very much in advance!
