I was surprised to see...... at the concert.

I was surprised to see...... at the concert.

    1. those number of people
    2. that amount of people
    3. that number of people
    4. those amount of people

I know that we should use uncountable nouns after " amount of sth". However, why we can't use those before that? (Answer key: No.2)

    Thanks!

The purist would say that only #3 is correct. You can't have an amount of people.

I do think you should tear up that collection of test questions, Freeguy. It's appalling.

I couldn't agree more! This series of questions is annoying me more and more.

Don't we use a number of + countable nouns?

    Ok. I will eliminate them!
