    Which are correct:

    1-It sounded like plastic being crumpled.
    2-It sounded like plastic crumpled.

    3-It sounded like a plastic bag being crumpled.
    4-It sounded like a plastic bag crumpled.

    Only 1 and 3. They only make sound while they are being crumpled.

    Right - once they are in a state of "crumpledness" (not a real word), they are pretty silent.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
