Dear teachers,

It is reported that in the United States people read 2010 as "two thousand ten". But the correct way should be "two thousand and ten". Is that right?

Americans usually leave out the word "and", e.g. "one hundred fifty" where Brits and others say "one hundred and fifty". The date 2010 is also commonly spoken as "twenty ten".
