you will be teaching one class less in the second semester.

I was wondering if we should use 'less' in the title when 'class' is a countable noun. Shouldn't we use 'fewer'.

Also, why 'will be teaching' is used rather than 'will teach'? Any minute differences?

    Many Thanks

Yes it should be "fewer". The verb tense is fine for me.

I agree that some would consider only 'fewer' formally correct, but you will find many native speakers using 'less'. Some would argue that it is correct - 'one class less', 'two classes fewer'.
