    Difficult transformation sentences

    I have been staring at the following transformations for over an hour and cannot complete them Before I decide that the book is wrong, is there anyone willing to help me!

    1.The president found what the manager said was embarassing
    EMBARASSED

    The president......................................... .........comments

    I wrote : was embarrassed at the manager's

    but here there are 6 words and the exercise says no more than 5


    2. You can buy two for the price of one at this shop
    SALE
    They are............................................... price at this shop

    I am unable to come up with the solution
    Help, please

    1. There are five words in 'was embarrassed at the manager's'.

    2. How many words are we limited to here?

    Isn't manager's ( possessive) regarded as two words?. In most exams it usually is

    It is only one word.

    Manager's = Manager is/has might be regarded as two words, but not the possessive form of manager.
    In most exams it usually is.

    Just found this on the Cambridge Teacher's site:

    Do contractions count as one word or two?
    A. Contracted words count as the number of words they would be if they were not contracted. For example, isn't, didn't, I'm, I'll are counted as two words (replacing is not, did not, I am, I will). Where the contraction replaces one word (e.g. can't for cannot ), it is counted as one word.

    Manager's (the possessive) is not a contraction so the rule does not apply.
