how come + an auxiliary verb

    Hello,

Is it incorrect to use an auxiliary verb with "how come"?

I mean: "How come do you want to see her?"

    Thanks

    No.

How come you want to see her?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Yes, I meant yes! Sorry. In my defence, I wrote that after I got home from my work Christmas party! Draw your own conclusions.

I misread the question at first, Ems. I had to delete my original response and start again.

You can use them for negatives:

How come you didn't tell me?

Re: how come + an auxiliary verb

It can be used in a lot of ways.

How come you have so many cats?
How come you don't like sprouts?
How come so many people watch X Factor?
How come my laptop isn't working?
How come that man's beard is ginger but his hair is grey?

In each case, it can be read as "How did the situation arise that ... ?"
