    Please explain....

    Hi Everyone,

I want to know in below sentences which one is the correct one. Also let me know, how can I inquire in polite way.

    A) He is on leave from when?
    B) From when he is on leave?

Please correct my mistakes in draft. So I can get idea how to write and communicate with people. I really want to improve my English.

    Re: Please explain....

They would probably both be considered correct in everyday Indian English, but B is preferable because it respects the rule that subject/object word order is inverted in the interrogative mood.

Neither would normally be said by native speakers outside of India. "When does his vacation begin" sounds natural to me.

***NOT A TEACHER OR A MODERATOR***

Ravi_B, a better title would have been "He is on leave from when?/From when he is on leave?"

    Extract from the Posting Guidelines:

'Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.'
