what is an equivalent idiom for, 'he doesn't deserve something good he already has'? i.e, a beautiful wife who can have much better looking guy than him.

One could say "He is out of his league". That can mean that somebody has something or someone that doesn't fit with them.

Such a man is sometimes said to be "punching above his weight".
A reference to the sport of boxing, where a fighter is competing in a heavier division than is appropriate for his actual weight.
