    Hi teachers,

    Did I synthesize the following seperate sentences correctly?

    1) The students may be dull. They may be lazy.
    The students may be both dull and lazy.
    The students may be dull and lazy.

    2) He is hardworking. He is dishonest.
    Although he is hardworking, he is dishonest.
    He is hardworking, yet he is dishonest.

    3) On seeing a snake, he ran to his house. He was afraid of the snake.
    On seeing a snake, he ran to his house because he was afriad of the snake.

    4) She is beautiful but rude. She is disliked by her friends.
    She is beautiful but rude, therefore she is disliked by her friends.
    She is beautiful but rude, hence she is disliked by her friends.

    5) Honesty is a virtue. All religions hold this.
    Honesty is a virtue in all religions.

    6) The canteen was full of students. They had run away from the classes.
    The canteen was full of students because they had run away from the classes.

    7) You must speak the truth. Your mother will pardon you only then.
    You must speak the truth only then your mother will pardon you.

    8) The other heard the whole story. She was deligted to hear it.
    Hearing the whole story, the mother was delighted.

    When your teacher has checked them first, come back to us if you cannot understand why you got anything wrong.

    I don't have a teacher. I am interested in English and read different books and sometimes I try to solve the exercises and post here for corrections. I'll not write long posts which I think you have problem answering. I'll ask only short questions next time and will be very grateful to you for correcting them. I'll try to find some other websites for long posts.

    I'm sorry if I have written something unpleasant.
