    how to say future in past


    I am telling a story which was already happened.....but in some point I want to say that, one person in that story saying something that he want to do some work in future.

    How can I say the below sentence correct

    "he was thinking that he would want to play cricket in delhi(place name) "

    Yes, that's one use of "would" -- future in the past.
    He moved to the town where he would (someday) be mayor.

    However, you need to use capital letters.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
