    Smile Tenses

    Hello everybody,

When I talk about habitual actions in the present, which sentence is correct here?

1a) I always arrive at work by seven am. or 1b) I have always arrived at work by seven am.
    (present tense or present perfect?)

When I talk about habitual actions in the past, which sentence is correct here?

2a) My father, who is retired, always arrived at work by 7 am. or 2b) My father, who is retired, had always arrived at work by 7 am .
    (simple past or past perfect?)

    Greetings

    Joern
