    Complex Object Question

    Which sentence is correct:
    I saw an old woman loose her balance and TUMBLE backwards.
    Or
    I saw an old woman loose her balance and TUMBLED backwards.

    The correct word is "lose". If something is "loose" it is not tight, such as, this shirt is too loose. If you lose something you cannot locate it.
    I saw an old woman lose her balance and tumble backwards - She lost (past tense of lose) her balance.
    I saw an old woman lose her balance and she tumbled backwards.

    Sorry for my slip of pen, of course I ment the verb 'lose', so the right sentence is
    'I saw an old woman lose her balance and tumble backwards', OK?
    Another example:

    This would imply that the speaker was the one who tumbled.
