    Reported speech - question

    Hi everybody,

how do I put this question into reported speech?

Jenny had a job interview. She tells her mum about a question she asked the interviewer.

Jenny: "Do you think I will get involved with the technical side, too?"

    1. I asked her if she thought (that) I will get involved with the technical side.
    2. I asked her if she thought (that) I would get involved with the technical side.

Is it 1. or 2.? Should I use (that)?

    Regards,

    Manuel

    Re: Reported speech - question

    Welcome to the forum.

2 is correct; 'that' is optional.
