    getting the same revenue

Please clarify the following in red for me.

Amazon was in a price war in the UK, massively cutting the prices of certain books to maintain a competitive advantage against rival eReaders. The publishers and authors were getting the same revenue from Amazon as it sacrificed profits for market share.

Is this saying "they were getting the same amount of money(revenue) from Amazon because Amazon sacrificed profits for market share"? I'm not sure.

    Thank you.

    Re: getting the same revenue

Amazon cut the prices, but didn't cut the amount it paid the authors and publishers, so less money was left as profit for Amazon. (I think)
